national conference that brings together teachers, high school and college
students, researchers, parents and community-based activists/educators from
across the country to build a movement to develop and promote Education for
Liberation. One component of the conference is helping to develop a research
agenda for Education for Liberation. By “Education for Liberation,” we mean a
broad framework that encompasses an education intended to develop a critical social
perspective and encourages people to act on that perspective. Critical
consciousness means individual and community awareness of the internal and
external forces that impact our daily lives and produce multiple forms of
oppression and marginalization. We invite researchers and practitioners to
submit ideas for panels or individual presentations.</span></p>

models of education that develop socio-political consciousness while building
strong academic skills, that assesses the state of knowledge in relevant fields
and research that helps practitioners do their work with greater fidelity and
impact. We are also interested in research conceived and conducted by practitioners
