This is a web site and petition to support Bill Ayers, who has been a devoted scholar and activist in education and unfairly used by the McCain campaign to link Obama to "terrorism." If you're so inclined, please consider signing the petition. Regards, Paul
Dear Rethinking Schools friends,

I hope that you'll take a moment to look over the petition to support Bill Ayers and consider signing it. Bill has done extraordinary work on behalf of social justice education and has been a valuable friend of Rethinking Schools. He's written for the magazine, given us blurbs for our books, helped organize the meeting that led to our special Small Schools issue, promoted our work in his talks, and offered moral support in countless ways. The Sarah Palin- and Fox News-led attacks on Ayers have been as shameful as they've been stupid. Please add your voice -- and signature -- to those protesting this attempted character assassination.

Thanks a lot.
