[RSCT] Fwd: NYTimes on Obama ESEA Plan

The Ed Dept ESEA reauth blueprint is up at www.ed.gov, in a 45pp blueprint.
I am just now digging into them, but even the opening rhetoric indicates far
more continuation of damaging policies than amelioration or genuine
improvement. No surprise there.

According to the NYTimes, NEA's Van Roekel and AFT's Weingarten and House
ranking minority member Kline are critical of the proposals. That alone
means a lot of struggle over the shape of the new law and many chances to
weigh in and influence it.
