Here's two possibilities for support and that you can be more sure will get directly to Haitian people.

1) (IFCO is Pastors for Peace) To make a tax-deductible financial donation to help with immediate delivery of first aid relief to Haiti, send checks to IFCO/Haiti Relief, 418 West 145th St., New York, NY 10031. See www.IFCOnews.org to get more information and/or to donate by credit card. (IFCO has members throughout the US. Most are very reliable.)

-2) To donate first aid supplies and personal hygiene goods, contact Haitian Women for Haitian Refugees at 718-735-4660. (For outside greater NYC area, try calling them & maybe they know someone in your area.)

-3) If you're interested in an in--depth really good historical analysis of Haiti & US involvement. check out talk by Larry Hales. It starts slow but once he gets going has some incredible history, including how esp. France & the US have maneuvered to continually "punish" Haitians for having the first slave revolt. (Including France demanding reparations FROM HAITI for the loss of slaves!)
