Another book is *What If All the Kids Are White? Anti-Bias Multicultural
Education with Young Children and Families *by Louise Derman-Sparks,
Patricia G. Ramsey, and Julie Olsen Edwards. It is one of the few resources
I've come across that is specifically geared towards anti-racist work with
homogenous white classrooms.

As a side note, I would love to hear from other teachers engaged in work
similar to Bernadette's colleague. I'm a former high school social studies
teacher and current grad student at UW-Madison. I'm in the very beginning
stages of my dissertation which is looking at how anti-racist, social
justice teaching plays out in communities of privilege (homogenously white,
upper class schools). If you have resources you could recommend or are in
the Madison/Milwaukee/Chicago region and would be interested in
participating in my study, I would love to hear from you! The project will
start this fall and will likely be a 4-9 week ethnographic case study for
each teacher who is involved. If you any questions about the project or
pieces of advice, please send them my way!
