This is a ¬performance contract for a Principal’s Position in a four-year old
high school, with a mission that is focused on arts education. In addition to
the qualifications described in the Principal’s Position Information,
applicants must be eligible for a CPS principalship under Board Policy
#04-0225-PO1 “Requirements for the Selection Chicago Public Schools

				Multicultural Arts School is one of four small schools at the Little
					Village Lawndale High School Campus.  We pride ourselves in
					introducing our students to innovative teaching practices through
					technology and the arts.

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:

•	Knowledge of and experience in using current research and best practices in
the following areas of education: literacy, special education, bilingual
instruction, art-integration, and technology in the classroom;
•	Demonstrated experience working with the African-American and Latino
communities, and willingness to further implement the multicultural programs
that reflect the mission and vision of the school community;
•	Demonstrated skills in establishing effective systems of communication among
teachers, staff, parents, students, school partnerships, community and local
officials (CPD, CTA, Alderman);
•	Experience in all areas of grant research, writing, and implementation, with a
proven track record of collaboration with all stakeholders on school budget
planning and decisions to maximize resources; 
•	Ability to motivate and support teachers, staff, parents and students by,
though not limited to, being a visible presence during school day and for a
reasonable number of after-school events/meetings;
•	Demonstrated successful experience in positive discipline interventions,
strategic planning, such as new school start-up that includes the development
of high school student support programs, problem solving skills, and the
confidence to lead in challenging situations.
